Dear MLC Students,

We had a great day today as Mid August Festival Celebration! I am sure you all enjoyed the moon cake making, moon cake eating, lantern making, lantern riddles, and the great performance by yourselves in the evening. Congratulations!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the organizers of this event, the RTs, AM Tony Chan, RF Larry Leung, and all performers and participants like you! When you see them, congrats them and say “thank you!”, “you sang/played/danced very well!”, and “you did a great job!”

We will do more on this Wednesday 14/9/16 –A Talent Show at which everybody can perform and everybody can sing Karaoke with the songs that you’d like to sing! Mark you calendar!

If you want to perform (everybody is encouraged), write to me directly and I will pass it to our organizer of the Talent Show immediately!

Let’s continue our journey to become fluent in English. Last week we practiced ten ways to say “thank you.” Today we will practice ten ways to respond to people who said “thank you” to you. Sentence of the Day for Monday 12/9/2016) is:

Ten ways to respond to “Thank you”:

You’re welcome!

No problem!

No worries!

Don’t mention it!

My pleasure!

Any time!

It was the least I could do!

Glad to help!

Thank you!

Practice and say these sentences LOUDLY to yourself and then try them with your table mates at Food Paradise.

Meanwhile, don’t forget your cool manner: Greet people with smile and say:

Hello! How are you today! How are you doing today!

Good morning! Good evening! Good afternoon! Good night! Have a good day!

Have a good day!
