Dear MLC Students,
We are going to practice expressing concerns for someone. Sentence of the Day for Thursday 29/9/2016 is:
Expressing concerns for someone
A: Why weren’t you at school yesterday?
B: I wasn’t really feeling well.
A: What was wrong with you?
B: My stomach was upset.
A: Do you feel better now?
B: I don’t really feel too well yet.
A: Do you want anything to make you feel better?
B: No, thanks. I already took some medicine.
A: I hope you feel better.
B: Thank you.
Practice and use these sentences as often as you can until you are able to speak them automatically. The secret is still that you have to open your mouth and speak the language. To develop your cross culture communication abilities, mastering multiple languages is crucial. Actively participating in the language table will help you learn and practice more languages. So join the language table and practice the designated language (now is English) everyday.
Also remember to keep your cool manner: Greet people with smile and say when you meet at the meal table, or in MLC at any floor and anywhere:
Hello! How are you today! How are you doing today!
Good morning! Good evening! Good afternoon! Good night! Have a good day!
Have a good day!
P.S., To be ready for the High Table Dinner on 11/10/16, you want to join the Etiquette Workshop conducted by Dr. Chan, the Associate Master of MLC in the Dining Hall of W33, tomorrow Thursday 29/9/16 at 8:00pm. Learn the Etiquette at MLC and the table manners before you join the High Table Dinner.
