Dear MLC Students,
First I have some good news: The MLC has successfully launched its website at https://mlc.rc.um.edu.mo/events/archives-galleries/. Click on the link and enjoy the first look. This is the beginning of our website. We will continue to develop it and enrich it with your feedback. Tell me what you think and what you would like to add in. Also, share it with your friends and parents who may want to know and see what you are doing at MLC.
Second, how much do you know about Macau, the place either you were born or have lived for years or are studying for your bachelor’s or other degree? Do you know its origin, history, people and ethnic diversities, languages and land, food, missionary tradition and Christianity’s influence, and so on. Fortunately, we have invited an expert on humanity studies of Macau to give us a talk on these questions at 8:00pm, Tuesday 6/9/16. Since you may work and live in Macau for your entire life, you’d better to know more about this richest region in the world according to World Bank. So mark your calendar, share the talk with your friends, and come and enjoy Macau’s unique stories Tuesday 6/9 at 8:00pm, W33 dining hall. Don’t forget to ask questions. The talk will be given in Mandarin.
Now the Sentence of the day on Monday 5/9/16 is:
Tell me what you know about Macau?
Such as Macau’s origin, history, food, people, ethnic diversity, languages, land, missionary tradition and Christianity’s influence (利瑪竇、馬禮遜), development, and the future.
Talk about these questions at the meal table with your tablemates. Meanwhile, don’t forget to maintain your cool manner: Greet people with smile and say:
Hello! How are you today! How is your class? What’s up?
Good morning! Good evening! Good afternoon! Good night! Have a good day!
For non-Cantonese speakers, “Hello” 你好!（nei35hou35), “Good morning” 早上!（zou35san21), “Good night” 早躺!（zou35tang35).
Have a good day!
