On November 24, 2018 in the morning, more than 150 runners from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao and 30 students from Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College (MLC) took part in a charity run event in the University of Macau campus to raise money and awareness for cancer research . The event was organized by Mr. C.K Tam, also known as “Tam Sir”, who is a retired social worker from Hong Kong. For the past 3 years, Tam Sir has ran around the island of Taiwan and Hong Kong to raise funds for the Hong Kong Cancer Foundation. On November 18, 2018 he set sail for another running voyage from Hong Kong and extended the journey to Macao this year. The last stop for this year’s journey is in University of Macau. Tam Sir and other runners included cancer survivors started their journey in Tsim Sha Tsui and had covered 137 kilometers for the first six days, until they reached University of Macau on November 24.
Prof. De Bao Xu, College Master of MLC was one of the guests to start the run for this stop. He gave a brief welcome remark to congratulate on the success of the event and welcomed all the participants. All runners finished one to three laps around the inner circle of the campus and gathered at the Wall of Great Wisdom to cross the finishing line together.
