The University of Macau strives to provide a gender-friendly environment to all staff and students. As such, Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College invited Mr. Paul Pang, Dean of Students, and Chair of Committee on Gender Equity to deliver a talk on gender equity and professional conduct. The talk was held on 3rd March 2021 with a focus on issues related to sexual harassment and bullying on campus. Participants included twenty-three staff members and students who attended on site and sixty-seven students who attended on-line. Mr. Pang began with an introduction on the principles of gender relationships, followed by a discussion on what defines sexual harassment and bullying, their common forms, and a lengthy discussion on the myths about sexual harassment such as “sexual harassment only happens to women, men are safe.” Finally, in the Questions and Answers session, students asked a number of insightful questions including: “if one accidentally touched another person’s private part, how would it be considered as sexual harassment?”
