As the Mid-Autumn Festival and our National Day draw closer, to celebrate unity and a sense of togetherness, MLC hosted a series of activities. These included the Aesthetics Practice Workshop: Festive Lamp Experience, the Mooncake DIY Workshop, and the tanyuan giveaway, creating unforgettable memories for the MLC community.
Lanterns and lamps are cultural symbols of the Mid-Autumn Festival, rich in aesthetic value. In the Festive Lamp Experience, MLC Resident Assistants helped prepare the materials needed for students to make their own Mid-Autumn Festive Lamps. Through their own hands, students created colorful and beautiful lamps. This activity allowed students to showcase their creative talents, brought the students and the College together, and conveyed good wishes to the MLC community.
Another highly appreciated activity was the Mooncake DIY Workshop, led by the MLC House Association, who taught students how to make mooncakes. Each participant had the opportunity to make their own mooncakes, giving them a sense of fulfillment and achievement, adding extra value to the Mid-Autumn Festival. Students shared their finished products with each other, celebrating the festive spirit and friendship.
Finally, MLC set up a stall in the College dining hall for the tanyuan giveaway activity, symbolizing unity and sweetness. Students were able to enjoy a visually appealing bowl of tanyuan in early autumn and share happiness with each other.
This series of activities not only provided ample opportunities for the MLC community to come together but also deepened their bonds, connectedness, and team spirit.
The wonderful time we spent together in anticipation of this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival will be cherished and remembered for years to come.
