MLC organised a “Three-minute Online English Presentation Contest” by using online video conferencing software on April 8. Eleven contestants from different grades and majors used one slide of PPT to give presentations in English within three minutes. After the presentations, more than fifty online audiences voted for three best players. After a fierce competition, Xie Shanshan, a forth-year student from the Faculty of Education, won the championship. Huang Yutao, a first-year student from the Faculty of Business Administration, followed closely with a runner-up, and Tee Boon Zhie, a third-year student from the Faculty of Science and Technology, finished third. Through this activity, the students not only exercised their public speaking skills, but also took the opportunity to practice spoken English, which added some fun to the fight against pandemic at home.
