A delegation from Eduardo Mondlane University, Republic of Mozambique, consisting of three professors from the Department of Electrical Engineering, recently visited Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College (MLC) at the University of Macau. The delegation, included Prof. Acácio José Zimbico, Prof. Gonçalves Justino Doho, and Prof. Rubem Manhiça, expressed deep admiration for MLC and the University of Macau’s college system.
The visit took place in the morning of 10 July 2024 and the delegates were received by Associate Master Gary Fung, Resident Fellow Venus Viana and Resident Tutor Manuel Fan. The visit aimed to introduce the insights into the unique college system at the University of Macau which integrates residential life with academic and personal development, and MLC’s educational highlights. During their tour, the professors were introduced to various aspects of MLC, including its facilities, various student support services, and the extensive range of activities available to students. Prof. Zimbico, Prof. Doho, and Prof. Manhiça were particularly impressed by the activities at MLC that are designed to develop the seven competencies that formed the foundation of MLC’s holistic approach to student development. The delegation noted the effectiveness of MLC’s fostering of knowledge integration while students absorb specific academic knowledge in the faculties. The delegation visited MLC’s unique Patriotic Education Base and expressed high praise for the spirit of MLC students in serving the nation and loving the community.
The delegation’s visit to MLC marks the beginning of what promises to be a productive relationship between Eduardo Mondlane University and the University of Macau, aimed at enhancing educational experiences and fostering global academic collaboration.
