Mental Massage is a mentorship project organized by MLC in conjunction with the “knowledge integration” learning platform and the “four-in-one” whole-person education concept of the University of Macau. In this activity, MLC invites professors (MLC’s College Fellows and Affiliates) to meet with students from different academic disciplines and years of study. These gatherings bring students and teachers together in a relaxing and joyful way. This year’s Mental Massage kick started with the gathering of students and professors of law and science at our patio on 16th November 2022, including Professors Isabel Figueiredo and João Moreira from the Faculty of Law, and Professors Lee Tze On, Lin Ligen, Xie Ruiyu, Chen Xiaojia and Robert Smith from the Faculty of Health Sciences.  In a cozy atmosphere under the autumn sunshine, students and teachers engaged in heartwarming conversations. Professors encouraged students to face stress and tension in their studies with courage and wisdom.  They also shared their experience on the adaptation to life in Macau; discussed cross-disciplinary perspectives on Macau’s food culture and legal history in relations to inter-cultural values and so on. Next semester, MLC will carry on with this academic year’s Mental Massage series with more gatherings bringing together students and teachers from various faculties.
