Rooted in Macau and serving Macau are missions of the University of Macau (UM). In order to allow local secondary school students in Macau to get to know more about the University and its distinctive Residential College (RC) education, Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College (MLC) held two experiential activities in March. More than 40 secondary school students from the Macau Special Olympics and the Affiliated School of the University of Macau were given one-on-one guided tours by a total of 40 MLC volunteers.

Each visit lasted more than 3 hours, starting with a welcome speech by Interim College Master Prof. Katrine Wong and Associate College Master Dr. Larry Liang respectively. Student leaders also shared their experience and feeling of studying and living in RC. Afterwards, volunteers guided the students to visit public spaces in the College and landmark buildings on campus. Towards the end of the activity, volunteers and visitors returned to the College and participated in a handicraft workshop organized by House Association and had lunch in dining hall.

The visitors found the trip fruitful. Not only did they learn more about UM and RC, but they also became more confident and determined to study hard and get into UM in the future.
