On August 30, 2023, resident fellow and students from the Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College (MLC) visited the “Serving Her Country and People Heart and Soul — Exhibition of Song Ching Ling’s Life” in Macau, organized by the China Song Ching Ling Foundation, Macau Foundation, and the Shanghai Song Ching Ling Research Association. This exhibition pays tribute to Madam Song Ching Ling and promotes the noble tradition of loving one’s country and loving Macau.

This year marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of the Honorary Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Song Ching Ling. Her life was illustrious and honorable, with a deep devotion to her homeland. The exhibition vividly presented Song Ching Ling’s life through sculptures, historical artifacts, photographs, and multimedia displays, allowing students to gain a more comprehensive, intuitive, and in-depth understanding of her extraordinary life.

During the visit, students were deeply moved as they carefully examined each photograph and letter, listening attentively to the exhibition guides. They held great respect for Madam Song’s efforts to rescue and support the nation during the wartime in Hong Kong and Macau. It was a chance for students to closely experience her unwavering commitment and selfless dedication to standing with the Chinese people.

Throughout the visit, students actively engaged with the exhibition guides, asking numerous questions and participating in interactive discussions. This interaction not only deepened their understanding of Madam Song but also inspired them to carry forward the values of loving one’s country. Many students expressed their commitment to keeping the spirit of Song Ching Ling’s resilience and selfless dedication in their hearts and contributing to the development of their homeland.

The visit to The Exhibition of Song Ching Ling was a moment for MLCers to remember and transmit the values of resolute patriotism. With Song Qing Ling as their role model and a deep love for their country, students are determined to work tirelessly and actively contribute to Macau and the country.
