In order to help students appreciate the atmosphere of overseas cultures and further strengthen their global competitiveness, on the afternoon of November 8, MLC held an “International Cultural Exchange Experience” sharing session. The event specially invited two undergraduates from the 2022 class, Mr. Chuqi CUI and Ms. Yuhan LU, to share their international cultural exchange experiences.

Mr. CUI, with the topic “Teaching Talk: My Experience with Ceylon-Sri Lanka”, first talked about his teaching activities in Sri Lanka. While teaching English, Mr. Cui often used his free time to tell the children about Chinese humanities and history. “Before leaving, the children expressed their longing and aspirations for China in farewell notes they wrote to me.” Although it has been a long time since he finished teaching, Mr. Cui is still concerned about his students in Sri Lanka.

Ms. LU talked about her life during a summer exchange at Oxford University. She advised her fellow students that before going on an exchange, it’s necessary to understand the local teaching method. While studying there, one should also try to integrate into the local life to have a sense of immersion. After the sharing, the students actively answered questions from the audience
